So its Summer already and Ive had my kids for summer break since the beginning of June. Its a full time job, seriously. I'm finding it works better if I split them up and spend time with them alone.
Secondlife ( my band, duh!! www.secondliferocks.com ) is having a small lull, with no gigs. Whats wrong with people, I'm freaking begging for gigs, ready to play for free just to get the name out. And this band is good, real good. The singer, David Porter, is really talented. There's no pitch breaking in his voice, its just super strong and powerful. But thats the music business in Greenville, and South Carolina. They only like bands that play covers, and mostly AC/DC and Lynryd Skynyrd. Dont get me wrong, we do Simple Man, but whatever happened to taking a chance and listening to original music???
I've been keeping busy with my new art classes at Vino and Van Gogh, and working on a project that involves both a graphic novel and a new album. It will be a concept project with the comic book detailing a story involving God, Michael, and Lucifer. The music will be the backing music for the comic.
So summer is going to be busy for me.... wish me lucky!!
